 Teaching Procedure

1. Introduction (5 minutes)

  • Start with actions: jump, eat, run (use gestures or flashcards)
  • Ask: What do these words show?
  • Introduce the term "verb" – action word or word that shows a state of being

2. Presentation (10 minutes)

  • Use a chart or video to explain:
    • Action Verbsrun, dance
    • Linking Verbsis, seem, become
    • Helping Verbsis, has, will
  • Show example sentences for each type

3. Practice (15 minutes)

  • Activity 1: Fill in the blanks with suitable verbs
  • Activity 2: Act and Guess – a student acts out a verb; others guess it
  • Activity 3: Match verbs to pictures (TLM: flashcards)

4. Assessment / Evaluation (5 minutes)

  • Oral quiz: “What kind of verb is in this sentence?”
  • Worksheet: underline and label verbs in sentences

5. Conclusion (2 minutes)

  • Recap: Ask 2–3 students to share what they learned about verbs
  • Reinforce types and importance of verbs in everyday use

 Home Assignment

  • Write 5 sentences using different types of verbs:
    • 2 Action verbs
    • 2 Linking verbs
    • 1 Helping verb
